About Us

The Information Management Unit is a central function that supports all committees, boards, and offices in the municipality's systematic information management work. The Information Management Unit is organizationally placed under the Department of Citizen Service and Administration, which consists of the Information Management Unit, Väsby Direct, and the Committee Administration Unit. The unit is led by a unit manager.

About the Position

As an archivist, you will work with a variety of tasks. Your main responsibilities include providing support to offices in their work with the committees' handling instructions, conducting preservation and disposal investigations, managing requests for public documents including confidentiality assessments, and receiving deliveries and visitors.

In connection with the move of the shared municipal building, your assignment will also include supporting the offices with archiving, disposal, and digitization of the committees' physical documents, as well as inventorying, arranging, and cataloging archives that have been transferred to the archival authority.

This is a temporary position until October 31, 2026. A background check will be conducted. The position may be security classified according to the Security Protection Act.

Are You the One We Are Looking For?

We are looking for someone who has:

• a university degree in archival science of at least 60 credits.
• experience in preservation and disposal investigations.
• experience in providing support to organizations in developing handling instructions, document management plans, information management plans, or equivalent.
• good knowledge of the principle of public access, the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act, the Archives Act, the Archives Ordinance, and other legislation governing archive and information management in a public organization.

It is advantageous if you have:

• experience in relocating archive facilities.
• experience in handling requests for public documents.
• experience in arranging and cataloging archives, as well as inventorying archives.

To fit into the role of archivist with us, you need to be communicative, secure, stable, meticulous, service-oriented, and solution-focused. You should also have good collaboration skills.
